Conscious Horizons now on display at Charlotte Art League
"My life and art coexist within ensuing transitions as I expand my vision and education. I love the freedom of oil. It allows me the capacity to soften, erase or opaque at will as I guide my brush or palette knife to create colorful images. At the same time I am enamored with the moving colors and the unpredictability of glaze, which lacks the certainty of the oils used for my paintings. These differences, alongside my insatiable contemplation of the concept of infinity, have inspired this series of original oils.
Each work has positive words flowing and scratched through the wet oil pigments to portray motion, in hopes to draw new considerations in my viewers mind. I strive to communicate the movement of energy within these landscapes as if we could see our words, as we speak them, in the skies. I desire to create a mood that asks, as much as tells us of how our words have shaped our souls, our spirit-selves over the the inestimable number of lives we've led. I hope to leave you with a sense of awe and subtle knowingness that comes with a new appreciation and/or awareness of this life."
