An accomplished bagpiper, Timmy has performed at various
celebrations, schools and church services as a solo piper for
over 30 years. She is a former member of the Charlotte
Scottish Pipe Band (‘72-’74) where she began her Scottish
music studies on the tenor drum, progressing to bagpipe.
She is a former piper with the Grandfather Mountain
Highlanders (‘74-’76) (‘90-’94) and held the position
of Musical Director for the last four years of her
tenure with the Charlotte Caledonia Pipe Band (‘79-’90).
Timmy and her
husband Ed Krintz are founders and instructors of Loch Norman Pipe
Band (LNPB)(‘96-present) based in Huntersville, NC. As Musical
Director of LNPB, Ed has taken the band to great heights with its
excellent record in its competitions to date. Its first outing in
Grade V was a big win at the LNHG in l997. By the end of 1998, the
band was moved up to Grade IV and succeeded to place in each
competition it entered during l999. In the year 2001, the band was
upgraded again to Grade III and has done well in this more
competitive arena due to Ed’s dedication to excellence. He is an
adjudicator with the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association
and his travels take him to various Highland Games to judge
competitions or to teach workshops. This former Musical Director
of the Denny and Dunipace Pipe Band (‘75-’80) and Grandfather
Mountain Highlanders (‘80-’94) has won most of the prestigious
piping awards offered in the US and is highly sought after as an
instructor of the classical pipe music, piobaireachd.
Ed and Timmy make a
great team, and are available to perform a perfect duet at your
next celebratory occasion.
