hire a piper or 2

An accomplished bagpiper, Timmy has performed at various celebrations, schools and services as a solo piper since 1974. Many of her beginning students have far succeeded her abilities to become band leaders and award winning pipers. She is a former member of the Charlotte Scottish Pipe Band (CSPB) (‘71-’74) where she began her Scottish music studies as a flourishing tenor drummer, progressing to the pipes.

Her piping lessons began with Harvey Ritch and Albert McMullin.  While performing with CSPB, she also attended the Grandfather Mountain Piping School with Sandy Jones and John McFayden in the 70's. Then, in the 80's, she attended the Balmoral Piping School with Jimmy McIntosh, Murray Henderson and Scot Maculay. She piped with the Grandfather Mountain Highlanders (‘74-’76) (‘90-’94) and held the position of Pipe Major for the last four years of her tenure with the Charlotte Caledonia Pipe Band (‘79-’90).

Timmy and her husband Ed Krintz first met at the Grandfather Mountain Piping School.  Their love of piping brought them together years later and they began the foundation for the Loch Norman Pipe Band (LNPB) before they married. They currently perform solo and duets in and around North and South Carolina.

The LNPB took their name in 1996 and as Pipe Major (‘96-2008), Ed Krintz led the band from a fledgling Grade V to Grade 3 in a few short years. (for Ed's bio and more images, click here)
