My interest in oil painting began by watching my mother Aileen, who was an award-winning artist paint the black and white photographs my father produced, as well as many still-life and landscape paintings on canvas displayed in our home. I have immensely enjoyed the freedom of changing the photograph, adding backgrounds, etc., until I ventured into painting freehand portraits on canvas from photographs, not on them. Thus began a passion that still lives with me today.

Before color film was invented, hand coloring traditional photographs was a specialty that is now considered obsolete because digital technology has taken over the field. I have worked with many new techniques to produce a similar look and feel to the former process I had perfected. I do my best to please my clients working with the new technologies I've explored.
